Syria: Darkly Hilarious

This video was made in the middle of the war, by Syrians in the thick of it.

Notice the American, UN, and Saudi sitting on the left.  Russia and others make cameos.   The cave people holding the sign are Syrian civilian protestors.

So Assad killed 150,000? And how many have Al Qaida killed, Boko Haram killed, and Al Shabab killed? Who is the moral superior here who has the right to ask for justice?

I agree the killing needs to stop, but for one islamist group to point to another as the evil party - that is what is laughable.

The U.S. needs to stay out of it. Let them kill each other until they decide they are tired of it. Only then will it stop.

It will never stop because this kind of tribal territorial revenge behavior is ingrained in their cultural DNA :-?

If and when they adopt the federated republic model, under rule of law and democratic principles, in that region, the wholesale slaughter may abate, or else, it will go on as it has, for all recorded history and beyond :-?

Good luck trying to change something that has been taught to billions from cradle to grave for centuries

While the brutish brutal behavior of the Assad lackeys portrayed here, along with the seeming sideline sporting event portrayal of the US, UN, and the rest of the Arab world, I am offended by the portrayal of the rebels as innocent cave dwellers peacefully protesting a brutal regime, when in fact many of them actually represent one of the most brutal regimes on the planet, that being the Muslim Brotherhood and it's murdering ilk!

John McCain forgets that he's a coddled and manged tourist whenever he goes over there to break bread with the rebels, therefore he's never going to see the ugly under belly of the beast, Islamic Jihad :-?

Therefore old John can sit back with a clear conscience and declare Assad as the evil one while ignoring the fact of who and what put Assad in power in the first place

        SHALOM ;-)

I concur. The locals and Allah need to determine their hopefully benevolent and successful resolution for all citizens of Syria. That is their decision and determination. Pray for the winners to be the good guys whomever they are.
We need to stay out. But this video is very correct. "DED" is "DED" whether by guns, bombs or poisonous gases. Pray for whomever the good guys are to win. Determining which group is the good guys is beyond my job description as it is most in our government leadership.

I am reminded that Lincoln arrested a comedian in his day, and had him deported to Canada. It is a Syrian Civil war. It is publicly displayed on YouTube. I have yet to see one side innocent of atrocities. The Shah of Iran May have been bad, but what followed him was hardly better, and probably worse!

Until humans, through our evolution realize how valuable our fellow human neighbors are and how to live with each other, there is nothing we can do but try to avoid major disasters and ... wait. We hope that by scenes like these in Syria, the rest of the world takes notice and learns. God help us all.

Unfortunately.... The video has it wrong. It wasn't Assad who used the Chemical weapons. It was the Rebels! Thanks to the Saudi's purchasing off the Iranians and shipping it out to the rebels by truck.

The Saudi's are not the innocent by standers here....they actually are the ones who are funding all the terrorists groups.

If the Saudi Oil fields and Riyadh were demolished...the monies would dry up and we would have peace once again....

Once the oil fields were destroyed there would be a world wide panic and many, many people would be killed. BTW "Peace once again?" When was there ever a time when there was peace world wide?

        Gorbud...

world wide panic? There are other areas that have oil and would gladly take up the slack in shipping it to the countries that need it! Canada is one of those countries that have lots of oil for sale!

There were hardly any terrorist acts being done in other countries... they mainly were killing each other off before! So yes.... Peace world wide! The Terrorist organizations would not be getting any monies or shipments of weapons needed to commit their atrocities!

Many people are being killed off everyday now due to the terrorists..... what would be the difference? The difference would be that the Saudi regime would not have their little mutt hooks into every country like they do now! No more funding of terrorist organizations...no more funding to Universities around the world to spew the propaganda of Islam.....

And no more instigating the removal of Israel from the face of the Earth!

Peter, from all I've read, and from the Iranians I've met here (in the US) who got out in time, Iran was many times better under the Shah than with the murderous regime they have now. I don't know what the answer is in Syria. I think both sides are mostly evil.

I don't give a shit about any of those wogs in the middle east. There are no good guys there whatsoever.

I suggest we put up a yellow tape line and stay behind it while they kill each other off. Don't even offer to hold their coats while they duke it out ... just smile and know that while they are killing each other, they are not killing us.

This trite little video speaks to more than just dark humor :-?

It has all the ear marks of a well orchestrated propaganda piece that would make make Edward Bernays (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Bernays) beam with pride :-*

Whomever is behind this rhetorical vignette knows just what buttons to push and which icons to dangle at just the right time and place :-?

The producers would have no trouble landing a six figure income on Madison Ave :-*

Keep the Bread & Circuses coming 8)
