ISAF Joint Command evening operational update
KABUL, Afghanistan (AUG 24) – An Afghan and coalition security force detained several suspected insurgents and seized multiple weapons and ammunition during an operation to arrest an al-Qaeda associated Taliban leader in Andar district, Ghazni province, today.
The Taliban leader acquires weapons and directs attacks against Afghan and coalition forces throughout the region.
During the operation, two armed insurgents attacked the security force. The security force returned fire, killing both of the attackers. No civilians were harmed in the exchange.
