Happy Independence Day, America!

Ever since our ancestors beat back the dirty Red Coats, America has led the way in science, starting wars, giving things away for the heck of it, building the most magnificent library system the world ever has seen and giving free access online to the world, building space telescopes, hydrogen bombs, wiping out diseases and growing anthrax to shoot by missiles.

Nobody fights terrorists or creates terrorists quite like we do. We are the most humble of the most arrogant people on earth, constantly greedy for money only to give away billions every year to people who say thank you and to others who stab us in the back. We give more to people who stab us in the back than we give to those who say thank you. We are that dumb. But, our private enterprise is preparing to send people to Mars. We are that smart.

No country in the history of mankind has had more friends and more avowed enemies than the United States of America.

No military has ever been more disciplined or idiotic. We even had an attack submarine commander who pretended to be a Navy SEAL. Nobody can make up this stuff. If I were a Navy SEAL, I would pretend to be an attack submarine commander. We are Americans, and we do such things.

      We invented the Internet and gave you the language you mangle today. We invented the programmable electronic computer two years before you lot did. As for the Military, at one point a third of the World was ruled by Britannia!

        Great riposte. However, it's a common and unfortunate misapprehension that the UK "invented the Internet". Sir Tim (Berners-Lee) invented the world wide web, which is a totally different proposition. (Those ignorant of the distinction are commended to Wikipedia.) The Internet was "invented" (to speak a little broadly) by the Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA) of the United States Department of Defense, more than three decades earlier. Side note: I'm both American and British, and live in the UK. Both Mr. Yon's post, and your reply, are happily and gratefully received on this day. 8^)

        And today the Brits have turned their country over to invaders and elected a Sharia compliant Mayor of London. I don't see any Winston Churchill quality leaders in your future. So who is going to save you from yourselves? Americans fought and won our independence from you and came to your side twice the past century.We can't save you from the WOGS and Eastern Oriental Gentlemen that the UK has allowed to flood your shores and are multiplying like rabbits. The long and honorable traditions of the UK are quickly fading into oblivion!

          London has a Muslim Mayor. We like him, he was elected in a Democratic process by a large number of white Christians as well as Muslims. The UK was actually i the process of cutting the Colonies loose.

          You're a fringe lunatic. You ought to move to Russia with that type of attitude. It does not fir in a Democracy.
          People flee to places like US, UK and Canada to get free. There is a long tradition of them fighting for it too. Ever heard of the 442 Regimental Combat Team?

      The problem with the Great Rebellion as our British colleagues refer to it as is this - The King was German. Secondly, his great sin apparently dealt with trying to pull hard currency out of the most prosperous place on earth to support his wars all over. America apparently had the highest standard of living then? :lol:

      To some degree the Brexit vote may be yet another Obama failure. He threatened the UK with trade sanctions should the vote to exit the EU succeed. Apparently he felt that the British people were not sufficiently intelligent to make this decision by themselves. Further, I suspect that his obvious contempt for the British voters may have shifted a not insignificant number of Undecided voters into the Brexit camp. The implicit message is that Britain did not want advice from a delusional narcissistic punk psychopathic man-child, laughing stock and failed racist clown.

        Daniel, Obama is actually very well regarded in the UK. We don't feel he had much of an impact to be honest.

        Meanwhile Daniel, President Obama holds a 79% confidence rating in the UK and 77% across EU countries polled in the latest Pew Research aggregate June poll. Those darn facts always get in the way of anger and remorse.
