ISAF Joint Command operational update
KABUL, Afghanistan (Dec 5) – An Afghan and coalition security force conducted an operation in Watahpur district, Kunar province, yesterday that resulted in the death of the insurgent leader, Mohammed Yar Gul, and two other insurgents.
Mohammed Yar Gul coordinated the movement of insurgent fighters throughout Kunar province. He was directly involved in suicide attack operations in the region and planned and conducted improvised explosive device attacks against Afghan and coalition forces in Watahpur.

ISAF Joint Command operational update
KABUL, Afghanistan (Dec 4) – An Afghan and coalition security force arrested a local Taliban leader during a security operation in Maiwand district, Kandahar province, today.
The leader controlled a group of insurgents operating in the district and facilitated the acquisition and distribution of ammunition and weapons to fighters in the area. He also oversaw improvised explosive device and suicide attacks in Maiwand.
The security force also detained three suspected insurgents as a result of the operation.

KABUL, Afghanistan (Dec 3) – An Afghan and coalition security force arrested the senior Taliban leader for eastern Chimtal district, Balkh province, today.
The leader planned and conducted numerous attacks, including improvised explosive device attacks, against Afghan and coalition forces and provided direct support to other senior Taliban leaders in the province.

KABUL, Afghanistan (Dec 02) – An Afghan and coalition security force killed the Taliban leader, Juma Gul Akhund, during an operation in Panjwa’i district, Kandahar province, yesterday.
Akhund oversaw improvised explosive device operations in the Zharay, Panjwa’I and Maiwand districts of Kandahar province. He also organized the movement of weapons and IEDs throughout the province.

ISAF Joint Command operational update
KABUL, Afghanistan (Dec 01) – During an operation in Almar district, Faryab province, yesterday, an Afghan and coalition security force killed the senior Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan leader, Shukrullah, and two other insurgents.
Shukrullah coordinated the Oct. 26 suicide attack in Meymaneh district, Faryab province that killed 41 Afghans. He also trained insurgents and provided improvised explosive device components to both IMU and Taliban fighters throughout Faryab and Sar-e Pul province.
