HI Michael, I really doubt you have time to respond - but I well remember the time you were in Mosul for 6 months in 2005. Even during the LTC Kurrilla incident when I fought to keep you in theater. Keep up the good work.

Sgt Ian Anderson is my brother. Its been 5 years now since my family lost him and I've never seen this story before now. Thank you so much for writing this... In some way it gives me some closure, I was never sure on the story of what happened to him. Thank you again!

So yea that's me right there crying on the casket, and may I say finding this story is one of the greatest things I've ever found. The memory of my one time roommate and very close friend Matthew Grimm lives on through the writing of this man. If he would have continued the story just as short as a couple more day he would have seen the load out ceremony for yet another soldier and a couple more going home due to wounds sustained during battle. I was the truck who followed the command wire to the house and held the man in my HMMWV until CSM Pippin came and took him before we left. The scene you describe is so detailed and it was just so smokey that it appeared as fog. There was a feeling in the air that I never want to experience again in my life. Thank you very much sir
